Dearest Marie –
Just a word or two before I “turn in”.
Worked pretty hard today. From seven this morning till nine this evening. I’ll more than make up my half-day this week.
Ring didn’t come today but the jeweler feels sure it will arrive O.K. tomorrow. It had better for I don’t think we can stand the disappointment.
One more day dear girl, and then we will have each other.
Anticipation is rather nice at times, but realization is better, much better in this case, don’t you think?
Hope you are well and happy.
Much love to you, my little sweetheart.
Bill

The dates associated with most of these letters came from the post mark on the envelope the letters were placed in when the museum received them as a donation. Some of the letters may seem out of place, or out of order because of this. As we have no clear knowledge of exactly when all the letters were written, we have kept them in order of the dates on the envelopes.
