Exploring Our Roots: Farm Camp

June 26 at 9:00 am - June 29 at 12:00 pm

While agriculture is still one of the largest industries in our county, many of us are now several generations removed from the farm. How does our food get to the grocery store shelf or our dinner table? Children ages 7-12 are invited to join us this summer as we explore our farming roots! We’ll learn the science behind our soil and water, plan and tend a garden, discover (and taste) the basics of farm-to-table cooking, meet some of the animals on the farm, and raise our own barn! We’ll also visit two Hancock County farms to learn more about what life was like on the farm 100 years ago, and what it’s like today. Cost: $50 per child for members, $60 nonmembers.
