DESCRIPTION:Join us for a unique event\, combining history with the art of mixology! History with a Twist\, HHM’s second annual craft cocktail competition\, will take place on the Museum grounds. Some of Findlay’s finest bartenders from your favorite local establishments will create original craft cocktails inspired by history. The cocktails must pay homage to American\, state\, or local history\, whether in technique\, title\, or ingredients. \nGuests will have the opportunity to taste each of the cocktails\, while enjoying live music and appetizers. A panel of four judges will choose a winner for the inaugural competition. Guests may also vote for their favorite\, and a People’s Choice Winner will be announced at the end of the evening. \nTickets for the competition will be available in May. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Hancock Historical Museum will host an evening of fun for all ages at a Halloween “Spooktacular!” on Saturday\, October 24th from 5-8pm. Enjoy tours through the “haunted” Hull House\, built in 1881. Sample seasonal treats cooked over the hearth in the historic Crawford Log House. Decorate pumpkins and cookies. Children will enjoy face-painting\, crafts and games throughout the museum’s multiple buildings. Guests are encouraged to come in costume! The Children’s Museum of Findlay\, Hancock Parks District\, and the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership will also be on-hand with activities for attendees. \nAdmission for the event is $1 per person and includes all museum facilities. The first 100 children will receive a complimentary Halloween picture book\, courtesy of the Richard P. Barchent Jr. Educational Fund at the Hancock Historical Museum. \nThis family-friendly and candy-free event is sponsored by area dentists. \n
