About the event

This summer Findlay is celebrating 50 years of being named Flag City USA! Join us for a family fun day celebrating this milestone on Sunday, June 9th from 1-4pm. The free, family-friendly event will feature:

  • Patriotic games and crafts.

  • Special exhibit highlighting 50 Years of Flag City USA.

  • Learn about proper flag etiquette and disposal - presented by Dan Haas at 2:15pm in the museum's Community Room.

  • Meet American Founding Father and Hancock County's namesake, John Hancock, presented by Tom Davis.

  • Have an American Flag no longer in use that needs to be retired? We will be collecting old and damaged flags for an official retirement ceremony (on a later date, off-site).
