When Louis Everett Kennedy was born on November 20, 1858, in Danville, Iowa, his father, Alexander, was 23 and his mother, Caroline, was 10. He married Cornelia “Nelia” B. S. Grose and they had three children together. He died on February 19, 1935, in Findlay, Ohio, at the age of 76, and was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery.
